The large and lazy Teslin River is
a wonderful river with many opportunities to see and photograph
the wildlife and birds. The
river also requires very little skill to paddle and also offers
some good fishing. The Teslin River is a great option as it flows
almost right back to Whitehorse, so there is very little driving.
Day 1
We’ll pick you up around 9 am and after a last minute gear
check it’s off to Johnson’s Crossing. After arriving
and unloading we’ll spend some time practicing in the river.
We’ll camp right on the shores and enjoy an evening campfire
before heading out the next morning.
Days 2-6
The next 5 days will be spent paddling, fishing, photographing
and relaxing while traveling down this great river. We’ll
paddle into the small town of Carmacks, pull in the canoes
and treat ourselves to some ice cream!!
Day 7
We’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then begin to pack
up our gear. The 1.5 hour drive back to Whitehorse will give you
a chance to relax and we’ll arrive back in town in
time for a hot shower and soft bed.
