Equipment Lists

GEAR LIST for HIKING
* denotes rentable
EQUIPMENT
• pole(s) preferably retractable—optional *
• hiking boots—good support/tread/BROKEN IN
• backpack—70 liter/women’s/fitted to your body*
• 2 water bottles or water bladder and 1 water bottle
• sleeping bag and pad*
• head lamp with new batteries

CLOTHING
• hat
• sunglasses
• raincoat AND rain pants
• fleece pants
• fleece shirt
• quick dry “zip-off” pants (no extra shorts to carry!)
• quick dry t-shirts
• hiking socks
• sports bra (no straps to bother you!)
• liner mitts
• underwear (nylon with cotton crotch)
• sandals or “camp shoes”—something comfortable

TOILETRIES
• soap (unscented/ biodegradable/compact)
• deodorant (optional but must be compact and unscented)
• eyeglasses/contacts (and a spare pair of either)
• medications
• toothbrush (compact)
• camera and film (compact)
• moleskin and band-aids
• brush or comb (optional)
• hair tie/bandana for longer hair
• lip balm & moisturizing lotion (optional-must be unscented)
• bug spray (compact)
• feminine hygiene products AND a Ziploc bag for their disposal
• pocket knife
• binoculars (optional /compact)
• sunscreen—unscented
• notepad/pen (optional)

We ask that you put all of your gear/clothes into Ziploc bags with the “zipper” style of opening-a garbage bag will work for the sleeping bag. This will ensure everything stays dry and hopefully organized! We also suggest you pack all of you gear and then weigh it—every ounce counts when it’s on you back and you’re tired!!
