Skiing/Snowshoeing > 4 Day Coal Lake

Coal Lake is one of 8 chain lakes in the Fish Lake Area of Whitehorse, abundant wildlife, and beautiful scenery makes this a worthwhile trip. Light touring and almost completely trailed Coal Lake is a trip for everyone.

Day 1
Meet 7am for a quick gear check and final preparations. 20min drive gets us to the trail head and off we ski. Daily distances traveled will vary depending on group but is an average of ten to twenty kilometers. We will stay in a wall tent for this trip, relaxing in a warm comfortable environment.

Day 2
Ski out to Coal Lake and have lunch, enjoy some bird watching and wildlife viewing some possible photography opportunities, then on to the tent for Aurora Borealis viewing and a great dinner!

Day 3
A day ski back to the first tent site for more wildlife viewing, great food and fun!

Day 4
Ski back to the trailhead then on to town for some R&R!
