Not 30 minutes away from Whitehorse
city center is the area called Fish Lake which gives way to the
north-eastern
edge of the Coast Mountain
range. On this 3 day trek you will be able to view and photograph
wildlife as well as learn some of the interesting history. Berry
picking and shoreline fishing are also some attractions!
Day 1
We’ll pick you up around 9am and after a quick gear check,
we’ll be on our way. A short 30 minute drive will bring
us to the trail head. This path leads us above the tree line
and up
to the mountain top all within 2 hours. This 360 degree view
is a great spot to stop for lunch. We have the option of continuing
on down into the valley or hiking along the ridge to our campsite
on the edge of one of the Bonneville Lakes.
Day 2
This will be a great day for exploring, photography, fishing,
or just some well deserved R & R.
Day 3
We’ll spend the morning with some plant and flower identification,
and then head off back to the mountaintop for lunch. We’ll
take a leisurely hike back down the mountain to Fish Lake. After
a quick ride back to town, you’ll be back in time for
a hot shower and supper.
